Prerequisites:

A fundamental understanding of wireless, Distributed Antennas, and radio networks will be useful for students taking this course.

Course Objectives:

The course is for technical personnel who are new to telecommunications or experienced but desire additional training on telecom and wireless test equipment.  The course is designed to last here days, with each day devoted to a specific technology and supporting test equipment.  About 50% of this class is hands-on with emphasis on how to conduct tests and interpret results.  The subjects can vary, but those listed below are commonly requested.

Day 3: Communication Service Monitors

  • Land Mobile Radio – Overview
  • Roadmap of Customer test equipment
  • Testing Transmitters
  • Testing Receivers
  • Duplex operation
  • Testing antenna systems
  • Testing filters
